The metallo-phosphoesterase motif is found in a large number of enzymes including serine/threonine phosphatases, DNA polymerase, exonucleases, nucleotidases, sphingomyelin phosphodiesterases, and 2'-3' cAMP phosphodiesterases [1].
Aed a 1, an apyrase (adenosine diphosphatase) from the mosquito Aedes aegypti was identified as an allergen recognized by 43% of mosquito-allergic patients in skin tests [2].
Family-defining Pfam domains (at least one of these domains is present in each family member):
Pfam domain | Pfam clan | ||
PF00149 | Calcineurin-like phosphoesterase | CL0163 | Calcineurin-like phosphoesterase superfamily |
PF02872 | 5'-nucleotidase, C-terminal domain | - |
