All known carboxypeptidases are either metallo carboxypeptidases or serine carboxypeptidases. The serine carboxypeptidases belong to the MEROPS family S10 and to the α/β-hydrolase superfamily [1]. (clan SC).
15% of honeybee sensitized patients had IgE to Api m 9, a carboxypeptidase from bee venom.
Family-defining Pfam domains (at least one of these domains is present in each family member):
Pfam domain | Pfam clan | ||
PF00450 | Serine carboxypeptidase | CL0028 | Alpha/Beta hydrolase fold |
PF05388 | Carboxypeptidase Y pro-peptide | - |
